See it in your own light
A fabric can look different beside your window than it does on a screen. We bring samples to your home so you can compare color, texture, and privacy where they matter.

About Howard’s Draperies
Window treatments chosen for your home, with help from the first sample to professional installation.
Our story
Helping Boulder feel at home since 1976.
Howard’s Draperies was founded in Boulder, Colorado in 1976. We help homeowners choose custom window treatments that suit the room, fit the windows, and work comfortably every day.
You can compare Hunter Douglas blinds, shades, and shutters alongside custom drapery, fabrics, and hardware. For windows that are difficult to reach or adjusted often, we can also explore compatible motorized options.
Whether you’re updating one room or planning several, we start by listening. Then we bring samples to your home, take measurements, and coordinate the details through professional installation.
How we work
Good choices start with a conversation.
Get the fit right
We check the trim, handles, mounting depth, and space around each opening. Those measurements guide the product order and professional installation.
Choose with confidence
Tell us what you want to change and what you want to spend. We’ll explain the differences between the options and help you choose what suits the room.
Care beyond installation
When something needs attention, we can assess repairs or drapery alterations. The next step depends on the treatment’s condition, parts, and current product support.
Your project
From consultation to professional installation.
Tell us about your rooms
Start with the windows, your daily routine, and what you want to improve: privacy, daylight, views, or the look of the room.
Compare the samples
Review fabrics, materials, finishes, and controls beside your windows.
Measure and confirm
We check the fit and document the selected products, hardware, power, and installation details before ordering.
Bring it all together
Professional installation follows the measured plan, with adjustments and an explanation of how to use your treatments.
