Compare Hunter Douglas Shutter Materials
Each Hunter Douglas shutter family has a different material story and environmental fit.
Heritance® Hardwood Shutters by Hunter Douglas
Heritance® Hardwood Shutters use genuine hardwood for natural grain, paint or stain choices, and a tailored architectural finish. Real wood should not be treated as a wet-room material and is not recommended for high-humidity or direct-water conditions.
NewStyle® Hybrid Shutters by Hunter Douglas
NewStyle® Hybrid Shutters combine wood-composite construction with a low-luster painted appearance. They can suit active living areas where a wood-inspired look is desired, but the presence of wood means humidity and wet-room limitations still need to be reviewed.
Palm Beach™ Polysatin™ Shutters by Hunter Douglas
Palm Beach™ Polysatin™ Shutters are designed for demanding light and humidity conditions. They can be a useful starting point for selected kitchens, baths, and sunny rooms, but humidity resistance does not establish suitability for direct water exposure. Motorized configurations require product-specific review.
